This bill sets safety rules for e-scooters sold in the UK, including speed and power limits. It stops sellers from marketing e-scooters for illegal road use and bans modification kits that bypass safety features.

A Bill to require the Secretary of State to set prescribed safety requirements for e-scooters offered for sale, including limits on speed and power output; to prohibit the marketing, sale and supply of e-scooters for use on roads or other public places where such use is unlawful; to prohibit the sale and supply of equipment capable of modifying an e-scooter to circumvent prescribed safety requirements; to make provision about consumer information requirements for the sale of e-scooters; to confer powers on trading standards officers and constables to enforce compliance; and for connected purposes.
