Parliamentary Scrutiny of Trade Agreements Bill

This bill requires the government to get Parliament's approval before signing any trade deal with the USA, and lets MPs vote on and amend trade agreements instead of the government doing it alone.

A Bill to provide for parliamentary approval of international trade agreements; to require the Secretary of State to publish a proposed negotiating mandate in draft before entering into negotiations in respect of an international trade agreement; to require parliamentary approval of that draft before negotiations begin; to make provision for the amendment of draft negotiating mandates by Parliament; and for connected purposes.
