Regulation of drug testing devices

This consultation seeks comments on the proposed regulation for the use of drug testing devices.

What is being proposed

This consultation seeks comment on 4 documents intended for inclusion as a new forensic science activity in the Forensic Science Regulator’s code of practice version 3. The response survey asks for general views from stakeholders regarding the proposed approach as well as detailed questions on the proposed technical specification for drug testing devices.

Responses are encouraged from law enforcement, forensic drug testing laboratories, organisations with experience in scientific validation or certification, and any other organisations who have experience using rapid drug testing devices.

The documents below set out the background and context to the consultation and include the proposed regulation.
